Vouliagmeni is the most exclusive stretch of the Athens Riviera, a serene coastal enclave of pine-covered headlands, sheltered bays, and luxury villas about 20 km south of the city centre. It offers a resort-like quality of life — turquoise water, marinas, and some of Greece's most prestigious beach clubs — within reach of the capital.
The area is defined by its natural setting: the celebrated Astir peninsula with its beach and the Four Seasons Astir Palace resort, the thermal Lake Vouliagmeni at the foot of Mount Hymettus, and a string of organised and free beaches. An upscale scene of seafront restaurants, cafés, and boutiques gathers around the marina and the main coastal road.
Vouliagmeni has no metro station of its own; it is reached by bus (notably line 122 from the Elliniko metro terminus) and by car via Poseidonos and Vouliagmenis avenues, with the coastal tram terminating a few kilometres north in Voula. The airport is roughly 30 minutes away by car.
